BALTIMORE -- In an order entered March 11, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland allowed the Gas and Welding Distributors Association to participate in proceedings involving an insurance dispute related to the nationwide welding rod litigation. U.S. Fire Insurance Co. v. Clendenin Brothers Inc., et al., No. 03-3308 (D. Md.).
GAWDA had filed an amicus curiae brief on Jan. 12, arguing that as a nonprofit association representing over 800 manufacturers, distributors and service providers of related welding equipment, the court's decision in the instant proceedings significantly impacts the GAWDA members.
