MDL Judge Orders Defendants to Produce Statistics on Silica Claimants' Asbestos Cases

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Following a hearing to determine whether plaintiffs' counsel should be sanctioned for filing silica claims based on allegedly fraudulent diagnoses, the judge overseeing MDL 1553 has ordered defendants to supplement their request with additional information. In Re: Silica Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1553 (S.D. Texas).

According to an order issued March 16, Judge Janis Graham Jack has ordered defendants to include in their supplemental filings additional information about plaintiffs in the silica MDL who have also filed asbestos claims.
