CLEVELAND -- The National Electrical Manufacturers Association has moved to dismiss claims asserted against it by Louisiana plaintiffs with lawsuits pending in the Welding Rod Products Liability Litigation MDL. In re: Welding Rod Products Liability Litigation, MDL 1535 (N.D. Ohio).
In a Feb. 15 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, NEMA argues that it has never manufactured, designed, sold or distributed warning labels for manufacturers of welding products, thus limiting its contacts with the state of Louisiana.
