MT VERNON, Ill. -- Defendants who claimed that their involvement in other trials precluded them from taking part in the oral arguments related to the appeal of the nation's first welding rod plaintiff verdict have settled their other matters, and the March 1 oral argument will go ahead as scheduled, sources told HarrisMartin Publishing. Elam v. Lincoln Electric, et al., No. 01 L 1213 (Ill. App. Ct., 5th Dist.).
