CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - MDL Judge Janis Graham Jack has denied a duty-to-warn motion for summary judgment filed by the Ingersoll-Rand Company, despite recent rulings from Texas and Mississippi state court judges indicating that air compressor manufacturers were not required to warn sandblasters of hazards associated with inhaling silica dust. In Re: Silica Products Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. 1553 (S.D. Texas).
Judge Jack denied Ingersoll-Rand's motion without prejudice as part of an order she issued following a regularly scheduled hearing on Dec. 17. The ruling was issued without further comment.
