Diagnosing Doctors, Screening Companies Ordered to Testify Before MDL Judge

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Physicians who diagnosed silicosis in plaintiffs with claims now pending in MDL 1553 will testify before U.S. District Judge Janis Graham Jack next month during a court-supervised Daubert hearing, according to an order issued recently. In Re: Silica Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1553 (S.D. Texas).
MDL Order No. 19, which Judge Jack issued Dec. 23, requires any physician who diagnosed silicosis in the more than 10,000 plaintiffs with claims in the MDL to appear in person on Feb. 16 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. There, plaintiffs' experts will give testimony …
