Parties Drop Interlocutory Appeal of Venue Order; Lawsuit Transferred

JACKSON, Miss. -- Defendants in a Mississippi welding rod action have dropped their interlocutory appeal of an order denying a change of venue motion, after a trial court granted a motion to transfer the claims before the appeal was decided. Lincoln Electric Co., et al. v. Blackmon, No. 2004-M-1896-SCT (Miss. Sup. Ct.).

In an agreed motion filed this week in the Mississippi Supreme Court, the parties dismissed the interlocutory appeal, stating that the appeal was moot since the lawsuit has been transferred.
