Welding Rod Filings Affected by New Mississippi Mass Tort Standards

JACKSON, Miss -- Decisions last year by the Mississippi Supreme Court governing mass torts in the state have effected pending welding rod litigation, as an estimated 1,500 welding rod claims have been dismissed by several courts, with more dismissals expected, sources said.
The orders were issued in December by various Mississippi Circuit Courts and gave a number of plaintiffs a time limit in which to provide proof of residency or alleged exposure in the counties in which the claims were filed.
