CHICAGO - A state court judge in Illinois has awarded summary judgment to defendants in a silica case, finding that a silicosis plaintiff whose father died of silica-related lung disease nearly 30 years ago failed to bring his claim for a nearly identical injury within the applicable statute of limitations. Personette v. TEC Specialty Products, Inc., et al., No. 02-4906 (Ill. Cir. Ct., Cook Cty.).
