Elam Appeal Moves Forward; Judge Takes Motion To Strike Plaintiffs' Brief Under Advisement

CHICAGO -- The Illinois 5th Judicial District Appellate Court has taken under advisement a motion filed by defendants to strike the plaintiff's brief filed in the appeal of the landmark $1 million Illinois welding rod verdict.

According to sources, the appeal of Elam v. BOC Group -- the first welding rod plaintiffs' verdict in the country -- will be heard early next year. Sources also said that the judge has agreed to take the defendants' motion to strike under advisement and will address the motion at the appeal.
