WASHINGTON, D.C. - A silica case filed in Kentucky belongs in MDL 1553 because it's nearly identical to the cases that have already been transferred there, and because a pending motion to remand the case to state court can be decided by the MDL judge, a group of defendants argued recently in a brief filed before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML).
