MDL Judge Names Special Master

CLEVELAND -- Judge Kathleen M. O'Malley of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio has named David R. Cohen of Cleveland as the special master in the welding rod products liability MDL. In re: Welding Rod Products Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. 1535 (N.D. Ohio).

Judge O'Malley's Nov. 10 order appointing Cohen to the position comes after a joint motion in which the plaintiffs and defendants involved in the MDL proceedings requested a special master to assist the court in both effectively and expeditiously resolving disputes between the parties.
