MDL Judge Grants Motion For Protective Order of Unreleased Welding Study

CLEVELAND -- The judge overseeing the welding rod MDL has granted motions for protective orders over an unpublished welding fume exposure article and documents belonging to the Parkinson's Institute. In re: Welding Rod Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1535 (N.D. Ohio).

On Nov. 29, Judge Kathleen M. O'Malley of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, granted separate motions for the protective orders, including one in which both plaintiffs and defendants argued that the unpublished article, 'A Cohort Study of Neurologic Diseases among Danish Welders,' should only be used for litigation purposes and not be made part …
