ANGLETON, Texas -- A Texas welding rod trial has been continued, just weeks before it was set to go to trial in what would have been the first lawsuit to go to trial since an Illinois jury awarded $1 million a year ago in the nation's first-ever plaintiff's verdict in a welding rod case. Presler, et al. v. Lincoln Electric, et al., No. 23472 (Texas 23rd Dist. Ct., Brazoria Cty.).
According to sources, on Oct. 12, the trial set to take place in the Texas 23rd District Court for Brazoria County was continued, at the defendants' request, to Jan. 18. …
