Researchers Report Link Between Heavy Silica Exposure, Esophageal Cancer

Researchers have unearthed evidence that certain workers exposed to silica dust may be at an increased risk of dying from esophageal cancer, when compared to the general population.
In what they said was an historical cohort study examining the risk between silica and esophageal cancer, researchers in Hong Kong found that silicotics who have been exposed to high levels of dust may be more than two times more likely to die from the disease.
