Unimin Moves for Summary Judgment in S.C. Cases; DuPont Dismissed from One

CHESTER, S.C. -- A sand supplier named in several silica cases pending in South Carolina has moved for summary judgment on the ground that it has no records of any sales to the locations where the plaintiffs' alleged exposures occurred. Williams v. American Optical Corp., et al., No. 2003-CP-12-200; Reid v. American Optical Corp., et al., No. 04-CP-12-059 (S.C. Ct. Comm. Pls., Chester Cty.).
In motions filed in five separate cases pending in Chester County Court of Common Pleas, Unimin Corp. argues that there are no genuine issues of material fact that would preclude its dismissal from the cases.
