ANGLETON, Texas -- A Texas welding rod trial was continued the day before opening arguments were to be conducted in the first lawsuit to go to trial since an Illinois jury awarded $1 million a year ago in the nation's first-ever plaintiff's verdict in a welding rod case. Presler, et al. v. Lincoln Electric, et al., No. 23472 (Texas 23rd Dist. Ct., Brazoria Cty.).
