BEAUMONT, Texas -- More than 100 plaintiffs have filed a supplemental petition against welding rod defendants in the Texas 58th District Court for Jefferson County asserting that the defendants marketed products with inadequate warning of dangers, leading to the plaintiffs' exposure to toxic welding rod fumes. Benoit, et al. v. J. Ray McDermott, et al., No. A168572 (Texas 58th Dist. Ct., Jefferson Cty.).

Filed July 20, the lawsuit involves plaintiffs alleging exposure to both welding rod fumes and asbestos, and has been split into groups of welding rod defendants and asbestos defendants for procedural purposes, according to sources.
