MDL Plaintiffs Challenge Applicability of Recent Order Denying Remand of La. Claims

CLEVELAND -- Louisiana plaintiffs with claims pending in the welding rod products liability MDL have challenged an Aug. 6 order extending a denial of remand to Louisiana claims remaining in the MDL. In re: Welding Rod Products Liability Litigation, Docket No. 1535 (N.D. Ohio).

In a brief filed Aug. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the plaintiffs outline two separate groups of plaintiffs affected by the order denying remand, arguing that the 12 lawsuits, comprising approximately 60 individual plaintiffs, belong in Louisiana state court.
