Court Defers Decision of Severance in Mississippi Welding Rod Lawsuit

JACKSON, Miss. -- A Mississippi Circuit Court Judge has deferred ruling on the severance of a 19-plaintiff welding rod lawsuit recently remanded from the Welding Rod Products Liability MDL. Ruth, et al. v. Lincoln Electric, et al., No. 251-01-960CIV (Miss. Cir. Ct., Hinds Cty.).
According to sources, the Mississippi Circuit Court of Hinds County on Sept. 10 opted to address the issue of severance further along in discovery. A motion to change venue of the complaint has already been deferred pending further discovery.
