Study Identifies Highway Workers As Emerging At-Risk Group for Silicosis

Recent analysis of data from federal health officials and the highway construction industry indicate that workers performing repair work on America's interstates may be at an increased risk for developing silicosis.
In a study published in the most recent issue of the American Journal of Public Health, researchers claim that silicosis risks should be taken into consideration for those performing seven major road repair tasks that involve the use of silica-containing products.
