HOUSTON - Insurers named in a coverage action filed by three companies named as defendants in thousands of silica-related personal injury claims have removed the case to federal court in Texas, citing foreign law requirements. Air Liquide America, et al. v. United States Fire Insurance Company, et al., No. 04-2126 (S.D. Texas).
According to sources, the notice of removal was filed May 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Defendant ICAROM, a subsidiary of Lloyd's of London formerly known as the Insurance Company of Ireland, removed the case from Harris County District Court under 28 …
