CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - An abrasive blasting company that was dissolved by the state of Washington in 1993 and named in several silica complaints a decade later has moved for summary judgment. In Re: Silica Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1553 (S.D. Texas).
In a brief filed June 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Complete Abrasive Blasting Systems argues that it should be dismissed from the complaints because Washington state law requires that suits against a dissolved corporation must be filed within two years of the administrative dissolution.
