Application Seeks Designation of Silica as Mass Tort in New Jersey

TRENTON, N.J. - An application has been filed in New Jersey seeking mass tort designation for all silica personal injury claims filed in the state, HarrisMartin Publishing is reporting.
The application was announced on June 2 by Judge Richard J. Williams, the state's Administrative Director of the Courts, who released a "Notice to the Bar" indicating the applicant's intent to designate all litigation alleging silica-related disease as a mass tort. The application also seeks assignment of the cases for centralized management to Middlesex County Superior Court.
