ATLANTA - Referring to their contact with Georgia as 'isolated and sporadic', the National Electric Manufacturers Association has filed a motion to dismiss in several pending Georgia welding rod lawsuits on the ground that the minimum contacts necessary to assert such a claim do not exist. Burnette, et al. v. Dennis Welding Supply, et al., No. 2003VS052788J (Ga. State Ct., Fulton Cty.).

Filed May 3 in the Georgia State Court for Fulton County, NEMA also argues that it does not design or manufacture any welding rod products, precluding the plaintiffs from asserting claims for relief against the association.
