SUMMARY: The authors of the study looked at the molecular toxicology of three different metal-rich welding fumes after determining that epidemiological studies have consistently reported a higher incidence of respiratory illnesses such as bronchitis, metal fume fever, and chronic pneumonitis among welders exposed to high concentrations of metal-enriched fumes.
