FAYETTE, Miss. - The special master overseeing several Mississippi silica claims has issued an order granting a motion to transfer venue where the plaintiff is a resident of the county where the case was filed. Wyatte v. American Optical Corp., et al., No. 2002-263 (Miss. Cir. Ct., Jefferson Cty.).

Special Master X.M. Frascogna issued a report Feb. 10, recommending to the Jefferson County Circuit Court that the case be transferred for improper venue because the resident defendant named in the suit was not located in Jefferson County and none of the causes of action alleged in the plaintiff's complaint occurred …
