PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia judge has given a group of silica plaintiffs two weeks to address deficiencies in their responses to discovery requests or face sanctions as a result of their failure to meet an initial deadline for providing the defendants with sufficient information. In re: Silica Products Liability Litigation, March Term 2003, No. 0001 (Pa. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).
The order was one of several entered Feb. 9 by Judge Norman Ackerman of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, where approximately 100 silica personal injury claims are now pending and have been consolidated for discovery purposes.
