SAN FRANCISCO - More than 100 plaintiffs have filed a silica products and premises liability complaint in California, claiming that their exposure to silica dust caused them to develop injuries ranging from pneumoconiosis to cancer. Arbuckle, et al. v. Abrasives, Inc., et al., No. 03-427580 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).
The lawsuit, which also names in excess of 100 defendants, was filed Dec. 19 in San Francisco Superior Court and alleges that the defendants conspired to keep information regarding known hazards associated with silica dust exposure off the products used by the plaintiffs.
