CLEVELAND - Judges overseeing the Ohio silica litigation have ruled on a plaintiffs' motion to compel answers consolidated discovery requests in the wake of defense allegations that they were designed primarily to obtain information to fuel litigation in other jurisdictions. Couts, et al. v. American Optical Corp., et al., No. 466469 (Ohio Comm. Pls., Cuyahoga Cty.).
During a hearing held Oct. 22, Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas judges Harry A. Hanna and Leo M. Spellacy granted the majority of plaintiffs' requests, but refused nearly all demands for information about defendants' employees who have filed lawsuits or workers' comp claims …
