Study of Lupus Subjects Reveals Low Number of Farm-Related Silica Exposures

icAendic recent study examining the potential silica dust exposure among a population of Southeastern United States lupus sufferers has concluded that a low number experience high or medium exposures from farm work.
According to the study results, published in the May issue of the Annals of Epidemiology, only 8 percent of the 620 subjects interviewed as part of the study reported that they ever worked on a farm and classified their exposure to crystalline silica as medium or high.
