Refinery Reaches Deal with Insurer over $1.6 Million Silica Premises Settlement

CROIX, V.I. - A company that agreed to pay $1.6 million to seven workers who claimed they developed silicosis after exposure to silica at a refinery owned by Amerada Hess Corp. has reached a deal with its insurer, which initially refused to cover the settlement.
