Court Stays Community Service Sanctions Entered in Silica Cases

TYLER, Texas - Counsel hit with community service sanctions during the course of a Texas silica case that ended recently in a defense verdict won't have to serve pro bono until a state appeals court decides that the sanctions were warranted. The Hill & Griffith Company, et al. v. Lloyd Bryant, et al., No. 12-03000091-CV (Texas Ct. App., Twelfth Dist.).

According to an order entered May 8 in Texas' Twelfth Court of Appeals, the sanctions entered against the defendants and their counsel have been stayed pending the outcome of the arguments now on appeal.
