Defendants File Motion to Create Silica Products Liability MDL

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Days after filing notices to remove several thousand Mississippi silica claims, counsel for defendants named in the litigation have moved to create a Multi-District Litigation (MDL) docket for all Mississippi silica cases now pending in federal court. In Re: Mississippi Silica Litigation, MDL No. n/a (JPML).

The motion to create the Silica MDL was filed May 9 with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation in Washington and seeks the transfer of 22 cases to either the Southern or Northern Mississippi District Courts for coordination and consolidation of pretrial discovery matters.
