Florida-Texas Sandblaster Cases Each Settle for 'Six Figures'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - At least two Florida complaints filed on behalf of sandblasters who allegedly developed silicosis as a result of their dust exposure have settled in recent months. Kraai v. Standard Sand & Silica Company, No. 2000-005179-CA (Fla. Cir. Ct., Duval Cty.).
Sources close to the cases told HarrisMartin that the two plaintiffs, who also had complaints pending in Texas against an additional set of defendants, settled their claims for confidential amounts. However, the source said, each plaintiff received a 'six figure' settlement.
