Silicosis Case Filed by Tyler Pipe Employees Settles Before April Trial Date

BEAUMONT, Texas - A case involving nearly 200 foundry workers who alleged injury as a result of their exposure to silica at a Tyler Pipe facility has settled just prior to its scheduled trial date. Aparicio, et al. v. U.S. Silica Co., et al., No. A-165548 (Texas Dist. Ct., Jefferson Cty.).

The case, which had been initially set for trial in October 2002 before Judge James Mehaffy of the 58th District Jefferson County District Court, had been rescheduled to go before the jury on April 17.
