Mississippi Complaint Seeks Damages for Hundreds of Sandblasters Exposed to Silica

MACON, Miss. - More than 200 plaintiffs recently sued several dozen defendants here over injuries incurred allegedly as a result of years of on-the-job exposure to silica. Brown, et al. v. Dependable Abrasives, et al., No. 2002-317 (Miss. Cir. Ct., Noxubee Cty.).
In a complaint filed in Noxubee County Circuit Court, the plaintiff sandblasters claim they suffered serious and life-threatening injuries because of their exposure to the sand product and the alleged failure of their respiratory equipment.
