Summary: The researchers sought to assess high resolution computed tomography findings in silicosis patients to better define the role of such diagnostic methods in early detection of parenchymal abnormalities in silica-exposed workers. The authors analyzed 41 stone carvers by evaluating chest radiographs HRCT findings and pulmonary function tests, and concluded from the results that profusion of opacities on HRCT correlated with functional impairment.
