CLEVELAND -- Plaintiffs involved in the Welding Rod Products Liability Litigation MDL have filed a brief supporting their motion to preclude positron emission tomography (PET) scan testimony, reasserting the argument that such testimony is not scientifically reliable evidence. In re: Welding Rod Products Liability Litigation MDL, No. 1535 (N.D. Ohio).
The June 20 reply brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio offers the declaration of Martin G. Pomper, M.D., Ph.D., who states that the PET scan imaging procedure is experimental and questionable.
