Pennsylvania State Court Denies Transfer of Silica Claim Following Renewed Motion

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia judge has again denied a defense motion to transfer a silica personal injury claim to nearby Lancaster County, where they claim the plaintiffs are better affiliated. Horst v. U.S. Silica Co., No. 3542 (Pa. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.)
The order, issued Jan. 16, followed a new defense motion filed in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court by several defendants. The transfer was initially denied last October without prejudice because, according to sources, the defense motion did not come attached with self-addressed stamped envelopes.
