OSHKOSH, Wis. - A state court judge in Wisconsin has again granted summary judgment to a sand supplier that claimed it could not be held responsible for causing two foundry workers to develop silicosis. Hanson, et al. v. Badger Mining Corp., No. 99 CV 1029 (Wis. Cir. Ct., Winnebago Cty.).
Judgment was entered Jan. 13 in favor of Badger Mining Corp. for reasons similar to those expressed by the trial court in its award of summary judgment on claims filed on behalf of another plaintiff in the same case. The previous claim, filed by Laverne Haase, was disposed of mid-trial …
