MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A welder who blamed his degenerative eye problems on unprotected exposure to ultraviolet radiation during a career as a welder has been granted compensation benefits over the objections of his former employer. DeShazo Crane Co. v. Harris, No. 2070838 (Ala. Ct. Civ. App.).
The Alabama Court of Civil Appeals on Sept. 18 affirmed a lower court decision awarding benefits to James L. Harris, acknowledging the conflicting expert testimony but concluding that the trial court did not err in reaching the causation conclusion it did.
