Missouri Court: Plaintiffs Can’t Inspect Talc Delivery Process at Defendant’s Premises

ST. LOUIS –– A Missouri federal court has denied a talc plaintiff’s request to enter the defendant’s premises to inspect the delivery of talc, saying the allegations in the complaint have “little” to do with workplace protections or manufacturing protocol.

In the April 2 order, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri reasoned that the plaintiff could obtain the information through less burdensome means.

Plaintiff Michael Blaes asserted the claims on behalf of his wife Shaun Blaes, arguing that she developed ovarian cancer as a result of using talcum powder for nearly 30 years.
