WILMINGTON, Del. — The Delaware Supreme Court has affirmed dismissal of a lawsuit accusing Dole Food Company Inc. and other defendants of exposing workers on foreign banana plantations to dangerous chemicals.
In a two-page order released Oct. 20, the state high court adopted the reasons assigned by Superior Court Judge Andrea L. Rocanelli in her Nov. 8, 2013, opinion dismissing the suit based on the doctrine of forum non conveniens.
The 30 plaintiffs who filed the lawsuit work on banana plantations in Costa Rica, Ecuador and Panama. They alleged in a June 2012 complaint filed in New Castle County …
