Woman Drops Lawsuit Against Apartment Owner, Supplier Alleging Injuries Caused by Mold Exposure

LOS ANGELES — A California woman has voluntarily dismissed her mold exposure claim asserted against the owner of an apartment building and a materials supplier following defendants’ assertion that her alleged injuries were caused by preexisting allergies, anxiety and medications.
Jessica Donnelly initiated the lawsuit in August 2013 in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleging that the Redondo Beach, Calif., apartment she rented from July 15, 2011, until May 1, 2012, contained mold and other toxins to which she was exposed. She claimed that as a result, she sustained pulmonary and neurological (chemical encephalopathy) injuries.
