Calif. Court Affirms Dismissal of Legal Malpractice Claims Involving Chemical Exposure Suit

LOS ANGELES –– A California appellate court has affirmed a judgment on the pleadings entered in favor of former counsel for a flight attendant who claimed that exposure to toxic airborne chemicals led her to develop a variety of medical issues.

In the June 24 opinion, the California 2nd District Court of Appeal found that since it had already been determined through the workers’ compensation process that the flight attendant’s claims were time-barred, collateral estoppel barred the legal malpractice claims.
