Calif. Court Refuses to Impose Sanctions on Monsanto in Pesticide Exposure Case

SAN FRANCISCO –– A California federal court has rejected a pesticide exposure plaintiff’s efforts to impose sanctions on Monsanto Company for failure to comply with a recent discovery order, finding that the defendant had not violated the parameters of the decision.

In the May 15 order, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled, in part, that the responses produced by the defendant complied with the court’s previous ruling.

Plaintiff Javier Alcala filed the personal injury lawsuit against Monsanto, claiming he incurred injuries as a result of exposure to the defendant’s Roundup herbicides: Roundup Pro, Roundup Pro …
