Pa. Court Weighs in on Admissibility of Several Experts in Power Plant Exposure Case

PITTSBURGH –– A Pennsylvania federal court has weighed in on a number of expert challenges in three cases brought by plaintiffs living in close proximity to a power plant that allegedly discharged corrosive materials during several “black rain” and “white rain” events.

In a series of opinions issued recently, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania limited the opinions of geological experts proffered by the plaintiffs, allowed the testimony of air modeling experts and, in part, limited the causation testimony of experts for both the plaintiffs and defendants.
