Court Amends Class to Include Newer Tyson Workers in Ongoing Suit Over 'Donning and Doffing' Wages

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A federal judge has ordered Tyson Foods Inc. to identify employees hired at a Tennessee meat-processing plant since a class certification order was entered in 2010 so they can be added as class members to an action seeking back wages for time spent donning and donning safety apparel and related activities.

Judge Kevin H. Sharp of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee said in his Jan. 14 order that he saw no reason to keep new employees out of the class of thousands of workers already certified.
