Fire Instructor Sues Industrial Gas Company Over Injuries from Accidental Explosion

BALTIMORE – An instructor retained to teach fire suppression techniques to firefighters at the National Emergency Training Center in Maryland has sued an industrial gas company that allegedly provided a nitrogen gas cylinder that exploded and caused the instructor serious injuries during a training session.
James G. Munger, Ph.D., initially filed the lawsuit in the Circuit Court for Frederick County, Md., against Roberts Oxygen Co. Inc., a Gaithersburg, Md., company. Roberts removed the action to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland on diversity grounds Dec. 30, citing Munger's Alabama citizenship.
